Laboratory Services

The corrosive effect of soil, environmental waters and treated waters on construction materials such as concrete, steel and copper can result in great expense and inconvenience if the materials are not adequately selected and protected.

Simmonds & Bristow's laboratories are skilled in the analysis of waters and soils to determine the various corrosion indicators. Such parameters include but are not limited to:

  • Chloride
  • Sulphate
  • pH
  • Conductivity
  • Resistivity
  • Exchangeable soil acids
  • Aggressive carbon dioxide
  • Hardness
  • pHs
  • Langelier index
  • Ammonia
  • Alkalinity
  • Sulphur reducing bacteria

Our consultants can review the analytical results and make basic recommendations on material selection and protection.
