Engineer/Project Manager (Walgett– Northern NSW)

About the role

Contract IMMEDIATELY start until  Friday 28th January 2022

Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm

Tasks to be undertaken

  • Assist team leaders in procuring necessary parts and equipment or organise emergency repairs of Water & Sewer Infrastructure in Walgett Shire.
  • Ensure continuity of weekly drinking water sampling and sewage sampling for Covid-19 surveillance, including reporting and response. This may include bi-annual chemistry sampling of drinking water.
  • Enter daily plant operator’s sheets for water treatment plants, receive updates and feedback on plant performance. Report breaches of CCPs to Jason Harwood from NSW Health.
  • Provide assistance with engineering and management advice as required by the Council.
  • Assist with emergency repair works which may involve planning and directing the field staff and assigning duties as per information available.
  • Reporting to the Director of Engineering/Technical Services with updates on ongoing works.
  • Liaising with DPIE, NSW Health, EPA, and Public Works Advisory as required.
  • Organise/manage the following ongoing/essential projects (All relevant information/ documentation available will be provided.)
    • Walgett Trickle Filter Repair
    • Walgett Manhole Sealing Works
    • Walgett Bore Inspection
    • Integrated Water Cycle Management Strategy

Water Treatment Plant – Far North Queensland (3 Week Short Fixed-Term Contract)

About the role

3 Week Short Fixed-Term Contract

Monday 13th December 2021 to Friday 31st December 2021

Monday to Friday 7am – 4pm On-Call from 4pm to 7am.

Saturday & Sunday 7 hours per day with start and finish times, to be discussed by client.

Tasks to be undertaken

  • Day to day monitoring and controlling of plant/equipment
  • Daily water quality checks within town & at relevant Water Treatment Plants; CL2, turbidity, colour, iron, backwashing
  • Make up and dosing of plant chemicals
  • Minor maintenance of Water Treatment Plant
  • Keeping and maintaining of records such as, reservoir levels & meter readings etc.
  • Daily checks & adjusting chemicals of swimming pool in Georgetown
  • Any other works as directed by your W&S Coordinator

Trade Waste Officer – Rockhampton

  • Treatment Plant site inspections* – site inspections refer to commercial inspections (takeaway shop, mechanical workshops, etc.) that may include occasionally check trade waste pre-treatment units (oil separator, grease arrestor).

RTO Training Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, efficient and well-rounded secretary to join our Admin team to provide high quality program and administrative support to our Training team.

This role covers a broad scope of activities. Candidates must be able to operate efficiently within a busy professional office environment.

This position has a full-time junior to assist with basic data entry and lower level program/student management duties.

The position reports to the Office Manager and works closely with our Training Services Manager.  All of our trainers are company employees.

Tasks to be undertaken

  • Undertaking administrative duties to support the efficient operation of training services provided to clients in a manner compliance with the RTO Standards and relevant funding contracts.
  • Managing the processes involved with administering and processing claims for government funding.
  • Liaise with course students and their employers to organise course logistics.
  • Student database management and data entry.
  • Track and monitor project budget.
  • Prepare sales invoices, purchase orders and journals.
  • Dealing with and acting upon a variety of enquiries from staff, students and client companies.
  • Coordinate trainers’ schedule.
  • Report generation (e.g. AVETMISS, Quality Indicator etc).
  • Assist with training resources development, formatting and sorting for courses.

Desired skills and attributes

  • Previous experience in an RTO environment and understanding of RTO standards and QLD state funding schemes would be highly regarded.
  • Experience with use of a student database system (preferably VETtrak) and LMS (preferably Moodle).
  • Must be very organised.
  • Experience in supervision of junior staff members would be an advantage.
  • Computer skills across the MS Office suite, particularly in Excel and Word.
  • Experience with MYOB Account Right Premier or similar system and are not scared of play with numbers.
  • Strong communication skills, able to speak to people of diverse backgrounds.
  • The initiative to work proactively.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with a mature and calm attitude.
