ASS can potentially be present in any region where the location is less than 5 m AHD (or less than 20 m AHD if excavation is involved), and wherever there are alluvial deposits (usually Holocene in origin, and especially in swampy ecosystems). This workshop will be followed by a half day soil classification workshop.
The purpose of the soil classification workshop is to introduce you to the soil conditions at your site or property. The workshop will provide you with increased practical knowledge on how to measure soil attributes in the field, as well as how to interpret soil laboratory results. It will include an overview of typical soils found in Australia, and the practical implications of these soil types.
Both are suitable for councils, agriculture, irrigation, excavator operators, construction, environmental compliance officers, developers, farmers.
