Cert IV in Water Operations funded by QLD Government Higher Level Skills Program

Simmonds & Bristow is now one of only two Pre-qualified Providers* across Australia, under the Queensland Higher Level Skills program, to deliver the Cert IV in Water Operations course (NWP40107). * As at September 2014.
This program is part of the Queensland Government 2014-15 VET Investment Plan and is funded by the Queensland Department of Education, Training and Employment.
Who is the course aimed at?
Success in the Water Industry means that employees must possess a broad range of skills in water operations (this may include water treatment, wastewater treatment, network control, repair and maintenance), but also increasingly specialised technical skills. In an industry with constantly evolving technologies it’s important to maintain technical currency. If you are currently working in the Water Industry and looking to further your career or upgrade your skills then this is the ideal course for you.
What are the entry requirements for this course?
No formal qualification is required for entry into the course however, due to a mandatory workplace training component of the program applicants should be currently employed in the water industry.
How is the course delivered?
The course is delivered as a combination of face-to-face and remote training. As the course is competency based, timing is dependent on the trainee. Typical completion times range between 6 – 12 months. The enrolment period is 1 year.
What are the course outcomes?
Participants who successfully complete this program will be able to further their career in supervisory management of operations staff and will have significant input into implementation and coordination of monitoring and operations within the work group.
